'See You at the Crossroads' discussion.
So Episode 1.08: See You at the Crossroads aired today in Canada and maybe finished about twenty minutes ago. If you missed it, Teletoon is re-airing it on October 28, 29, and 31 at various times that should be listed on teletoon.com (but if not, there should be a listing on the newsblog).

So, share your thoughts about the episode in the comments here :) I myself won't be able to see it until next week, so I'm really interested in hearing what everyone has to say and discuss about it.

Obviously, there will be SPOILERS in the comments for the episode in-question.

Got a few moments before class so:

WARNING: THIS INCLUDES SPOILERS. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS EPISODE AND DO NOT WISH TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, DO NOT READ FURTHER...OR COMPLAIN IF YOU DON'T BOTHER TO READ SOMETHING IN BOLD CAPS.

Maybe I haven't been watching for awhile, but I thought this episode's dialogue seemed a lot more snarky than usual. Don't get me wrong, I think it was brilliant, but I was a touch surprised at some of the more sarcastic lines. I adored the character of the nerdy observatory guy, he was the epitome of snark. This was closely followed by Neil's "Oh, nice accessory Theresa, can I go back to bed?" and the little exchange between Odie and Cronus (Happy Halloween: Love, Odie/Cronus)

On that note: The Gods use duct tape. (Cronus has his giant tape the Observatory guy's mouth shut.)

There was definitely a nice, subtle AxA bit; wherein Atlanta repeats verbatim a sentiment Archie expressed earlier (They're nowhere near eachother when this happens, and nobody around would have noticed anyway, but we, the viewers do...it was just kind of cool to have something to pick up on, without the help of suggestive winks and nods from other characters to help us along in our 'potential couple' conclusion.)

Another interesting note: Does Crossroads come before or after Sybaris? Because here's a second episode where Neil plays around rather successfully with the supernatural...

And...I also found it a very interesting little bit of character development that Jay didn't acctually do very much in this episode. This is probably the most underconfident I've seen him played out. Interesting that. Each of the characters was extremely useful in one way or another, Theresa particularly so which...while I still find her just a bit too perfect, is far less of an annoyance in this episode when she's juxtaposed with Jay as very subdued.

And this went way longer than I meant it to go. But there's some thoughts.
